Hunter Forsaken (Wild Hunt #2)by Nancy Corrigan
"A vow to the dead...the mark of the Hunt...a love with one chance to survive."
"Wild Hunt," Book 2
In the slice of a moment, Ian Callahan lost everything he cared about-a deed done by his own hand. He awakens on the edge of sanity, chained in his own personal hell. He is to be the newest rider in the Wild Hunt, if he can learn to control the rage and guilt that consume him.
Then...a whiff of vanilla. The face of a lover he's seen only in his dreams. He doesn't know her name, only that she stirs the hungry beast within him.
For a millennium, Tegan and her sibling riders of the Wild Hunt were imprisoned, suffering under a curse meant for the Unseelie Court. Though her body is free, she carries the curse with her-and the additional burden of finally knowing the name of her destined mate. A human named Ian Callahan.
He's her Trojan horse, the only one who can heal her heart. Just one last challenge stands in the way of claiming each other, once and for all. Failure means facing eternity the incomplete halves of a whole.
"Warning: Contains a hero who's more than just the total...package. And a daughter of the Underworld who thought she knew what Hell was...until she fell in love. Boundaries of monogamy pushed, pulled, stretched-but never broken."
Manda's 4 Star Review
I really liked the first book in this series and like the series even more after reading this book. I love how each individual story is just a part of a bigger picture. All the pieces have to fall into place in order for the big picture to be revealed. Ian and Tegan have a difficult story and a lot to overcome. They are drawn to each other but they are also being played by a force greater than themselves. Nancy Corrigan does an amazing job telling this very in depth story. Each rider in the hunt has their own demons they must slay and when Ian's real nature is reveal it is a huge test to Tegan, Ian and all the members of the hunt who are relying on them. I am completely drawn to this story and cannot wait for the next book. I love the tests the characters go through and am also looking forward to what happens to the hunt when the entire story unfolds. Lots of twists in this one and lots of action. Cannot wait to read what happens next.

Note: Originally published as Hunter Betrayed by Ellora's Cave. It has been re-edited, expanded and re-titled as Hunter Deceived.
He was born to kill her...but he'll risk all to save her.
Wild Hunt, Book 1
Every day, Harley fights the urge to embrace the dark heritage that could turn her Unseelie. Evil. "Bad." A nightmarish monster like the ones that wiped out her family. The only thing keeping her on this side of Seelie is a promise made to the ghostly man who saved her that terrible night.
Whenever she's tempted, she calls up a vision of his eyes. Hears his voice calling her back from the brink of madness. Years later, when she returns to the scene of her living hell, he's her only hope for salvation.
Calan, the leader of the Wild Hunt, was created to protect mankind from the Unseelie Court, not love one of them. He never expected the rightness he felt with her all those years ago would explode into desire.
But saving her from a fate she can't escape could damn them both...and leave the world open for destruction.
Warning: Contains a half-fae woman who could really use a Seelie version of AA to stay clean and monster-free. And a rider of the Wild Hunt who'll take any risk to keep her safe from her enemies. Including himself.

I am so completely hooked on this series!! I have not read any books quite like this before. I am usually not a big PNR reader, but occasionally I will read a blurb that has me too interested to pass up. That is what happened with this book and I am so glad I read it. Right from the start I was swept up in this story and got completely lost in the struggle that Harley was facing. There are so many facets to this story and everyone is being tested. Every choice they make could have a really bad outcome so they must choose carefully. The author does a really great job of telling a story that has the potential to get confusing. She does a fantastic job of making sure the reader doesn’t get lost in all the details. I cannot wait for the next book. I am completely caught up in this story and am ready for more!!
