Wreck Me (Nova #4) by Jessica Sorensen
When Avery Hensley met Conner Wellings, she thought she’d found the guy she was going to spend the rest of her life with. She got married young and had the most beautiful son in the world.
Life seemed perfect.
But not everything is what it seems.
Turned out Conner had another side to him, a darker side that Avery didn’t see coming. He wrecked and broke her into a thousand pieces, leaving Avery to put herself back together. From then on, Avery vows never to let a man into her life again.
But then she meets Tristan Morganson. He’s sweet and sexy and wrecks Avery in a different way than Conner did, the kind of way that makes her feel alive again, the kind of way that makes her think maybe not all guys are bad. But can Avery trust him enough to let her walls come crumbling down?
*Can be read as a Standalone*
Manda's 3 Star Review
Avery Hensley thought she met the man of her dreams. Conner Wellings was there to pull her out of the darkness that was her homelife. Everything was going to be perfect. Until another side of Conner comes out. Avery finds herself in a worse situation that before only this time she has a son she would do anything to protect. After pulling herself out of conner's grasp she promises never to get caught up in a relationship again. Then she meets Tristan Morganson. There is something about him that calls to her. Tristan has a troubled past that continues to haunt him, but Avery feels like there is a reason he was put in her life. As the 2 grow closer and start to share about their lives a ghost from the past shows up and threatens to ruin the bond they have formed.
I had a little trouble getting into this story. I am a huge fan of Jessica Sorensen and have always loved her books. I have not read the other books in this series but noticed this could be read as a standalone so I thought I would check it out. I'm not sure if reading the other books would have helped me get into this story a little more by giving me some more of Tristan's background, but it may have helped. I loved Tristan and Avery's characters and the story of how they meet but I just felt like I was missing something. I just couldn'y get lost in this story like I wanted to. As always the writing is amazing and the characters are awesome but for me it was just missing something. I think for me I need to go back and read the other books and then maybe I can connect a little better. I am a huge fan of Jessica Sorensen so reading more of her work is not going to be a hardship for me. Looking forward to whatever comes next.

Review: The Forgotten Girl by Jessica Sorensen
Twenty-one year-old Maddie Asherford is haunted by a past she can’t remember. When she was fifteen years old, there was a tragic accident and she was left with amnesia.
In the aftermath, Maddie’s left struggling with who she is—the forgotten girl she was six years ago or the Maddie she is now. Sometimes it even feels like she might be two different people completely—the good Maddie and the bad one.
Good Maddie goes to therapy, spends time with her family, and works on healing herself. Bad Maddie rebels and has dark thoughts of hurting people and sometimes even killing them.
Maddie manages to keep her twisted thoughts hidden for the most part. That is until she starts having blackouts. Each time she wakes up from one, she’s near a murder scene with no recollection of what happened the night before and this helpless feeling like she’s losing control of her life. Maddie doesn’t want to believe she’s a killer, but she begins to question who she really was in her past. If she was bad Maddie all along and that maybe she was a killer
Manda's 4 Star Review:
After a tragic accident leaves her with no memory of her past Maddie Asherford is left feeling lost. Her mother reminds her constantly of the good girl she was and the life she lived, but none of it feels right to Maddie. Trying on different persona’s to see if anything feels right leaves Maddie even more confused. She doesn't feel like the girl her mother tells her she was. The small voice in her head tells her to let loose and act upon the thoughts she is having of anger and pain, but she struggles to keep them at bay. When she start blacking out and waking up near murder scenes she fears the darkness she tries to hide is taking over. She knows something bad is in her past and as memories start to surface and a new danger takes hold, Maddie fights to find out the truth.
I had a little trouble getting into this book at first. I'm used to a completely different kind of book by Jessica Sorensen, so it took a bit to get really into this one. I am so glad I continued with this book. Jessica Sorensen is an amazing author who has the ability to completely pull you into a story. I got so caught up in Maddie's struggles that I was at the end of the book before I knew it. This book is mysterious and dark and completely amazing. It will leave you saying what the hell just happened. I love books that leave you thinking about them long after you finish and this is definitely one of those books. So many important characters to focus on and an amazing storyline that is different from any book I have read in the past. Just when you think you have it figured out something else comes crashing down. Fantastic job by the author and a must read!!
