Lies Unspoken (Flawed Love #1) by Lisa De Jong
I tried hard not to fall for the bad guy.
My new roommate, Blake, is a jerk—an unemployed artist with a chip on his shoulder. I can’t stand him unless his hands are on me. He makes me desperate for him, and everything he makes me feel.
And then there’s my new boss, Pierce--successful, charming, and extremely good-looking. He goes after what he wants, but what does he see in me?
I try to stay away, but I end up in the arms of exactly who I was hiding from. And when I find out what’s being hidden from me, my heart twists in ways it never should.
I thought I knew him.
I didn't.
The way he kissed me.
The way his hands traveled every inch of my skin.
I thought it meant something, but as it turns out, it was all lies unspoken.
Manda's 4 Star Review
After suffering a terrible heart break Lila decides that a new start is just what she needs. She packs up and decides to stay at her friends apartment while she is away. On the plane to her new life Lila meets business man Pierce Stanley and after talking about her career options he offers her an opportunity at his company. Appreciative of his offer but more focused on locating her new apartment only to find that it is not empty but being occupied by her friends brother. Blake is broody and rude and not the ideal roommate, but there is something about him that draws Lila to him. He has a secret that is eating him up inside and she wants nothing more that to relieve him of this burden. The only problem is that no matter what he may feel for Lila he is determined not to let her in. When things between Blake and Lila become even more strained Pierce steps in to let Lila know he is interested and it becomes apparent that the 2 men know each other and do not like each other. So many secrets, lies and misunderstandings that tear all of their worlds wide open.
I was completely into this story right from the start. The characters are so well done that I couldn't help but get caught up in their world. There is just so much depth to this story and so much pain within each of the characters that I was unable to put it down. The author does a fantastic job of telling such a complicated story and really getting you into each of the their heads and hearts. This ends in a cliffhanger and you will definitely want to know what happens next. I am eagerly awaiting the next book. Great job Lisa De Jong!!!

When It Rains (Rain #1)
One night changed my life forever.
Beau Bennett has been my best friend since I can remember. He was my first crush before everything came crashing down, and now he wants more, but it's more than I can give him. Things are different now. I wish I could tell him why, but I can't.
I haven’t told anyone.
I never knew how much I really needed him until the day he left for college, and I was completely alone.
Then one day, Asher Hunt rides into town with his dark, captivating eyes and cocky grin. He doesn't care who I used to be, he's simply breathing life into what’s left. People warn me to stay away from him, but he helps me forget the pain that has held me hostage for so long; something I thought was impossible before he walked into my life.
I’ve been hurt.
I’ve been saved.
And I’ve found hope.
I thought my story was written that night, but now I know it was only a new beginning. Until one secret turns my world upside down…
Again.
My 5 Star Review!!
When it Rains starts off with Kate a 17 year old with a promising future, until one fateful night changes the life she knows forever; Kate was broken, damaged, and scarred. Kate has lived most of her life in Carrington and has spent most of that time with her best friend Beau Bennett. Beau is the only person that stayed by her side after the “old Kate” left for good. Beau loves Kate unconditionally but Kate only pushes him away. After Beau leaves for college, Kate finds herself alone doing the same things everyday: working, running, and crying. Kate is at work one day, when her whole life gets turned upside down by a blond haired blue-eyed man named Asher Hunt. Asher helps Kate remember what its like for her to be carefree again, and helps her put the pieces of her life back together. Asher is hiding something though, and when it comes out it has the ability to destroy everything.
When it Rains is a story about love and hope. It’s a story about second chances and new beginnings. It’s beautifully written, wonderful character development, and has a story line that pulls you in from the prologue. Kate and Asher are characters that people can relate to. They both went through traumatic life events but were able to find peace and happiness. Hopefully Kate and Asher can help people in real life realize there is hope and second chances. I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good read! Be prepared to grab a box of Kleenex though!!
