When her beloved brother and only family she has goes missing, Laila drops everything to try and find him. Armed with very little information she sets off to his last know location. Laila has no idea what she is heading into and quickly finds herself kidnapped and trapped in a nightmare she has no way of escaping.
Aiden had a plan in place but when Laila arrives his plan gets much more complicated. Playing a dangerous game with his dangerous family Aiden must find a way to right the wrongs as well as keep his family from finding out his plan. Time is running out and there is only one way to keep everything from falling apart but it is extremely dangerous and requires Laila to put her trust in a stranger who played a part in destroying her life
I had no idea what I was getting into with this book. I read the blurb and was extremely intrigued, but had no idea the direction this book would take. The subject matter in this book was not something I would normally read, but after starting it I found I could not put it down. From the very beginning the book pulls you in and takes you on an unexpected journey into a terrifying world. Laila is an amazingly strong character and battles her way through a living nightmare. The villains are truly heartless and scary and then there is Aiden who isn't quite what he seems. Lots of exciting and frightening twists and turns in this book that will leave you wanting to read book 2 immediately. I love when I find a book that really draws me in and keeps me hooked. Little Doll is definitely that kind of a book.
Crimson Desert (Bittersweet Duet) by Melissa Jane
Now back across the border, LAILA realizes that all had not been as it seemed at the Florez mansion. Learning to trust the man she wanted dead was going to take time. Time was not on her side.
For AIDEN, the damage was done. There was no going back. Except for one thing… revenge.
Giving up was never an option for JUAN. Not even now when everything had changed. He lived and breathed the thrill of the chase and this time the end prize was too great to lose.
This is a dark story where the taste for love and revenge clash in the most unforgiving ways.
Manda's 4 Star Review
Even though things did not go as planned Laila finds herself back across the border and away from the evil Florez mansion. The only problem is she is now stuck with the one man she doesn't trust and the man who is responsible for taking away the only thing she had left. Laila soon realizes everything is not as it seems. Aiden had kept a very important secret that could change everything. Armed with some new allies Aiden and Laila set out to try to free themselves once and for all. Its a dangerous game of cat and mouse when Juan decides not to go down without a fight and is determined to kill Aiden and keep Laila as his own.
