It was impossible not to fall in love with Dax, Beck and Violet in the first book and now they are back making you love them even more. The ghosts of the past are still alive and haunting Dax and Beck as they try to create a beautiful life for their little girl. I said it about the first book and I will say it again about this one that I love the direction and development of these characters. Each one comes with a ton of baggage they struggle to carry and the other is always there to help lighten the load. They have an amazing connection and even when times are really tough they are able to depend on each other for support. The author does an amazing job telling their story and bringing you into their world. This is one of my favorite series. The writing and story development are fantastic and its impossible to put down once you get started. Dax also introduces us to a new character that I definitely want to know more about and hope we get his story in the future. Again this is a fantastic series you definitely don’t want to miss!!
From the Wreckage by Melissa Collins
First, he saved me.
I lived because he was a hero.
And then he was gone.
Uprooted by the fire that destroyed our home, my family moved away and I never saw David Andrews again.
Then, he found me.
Eighteen years later, he rescued me again - in much simpler terms, of course. By loving me, by giving me the fairy tale I’d always hoped for, he provided me with the perfect life.
Now, he needs to be saved.
It’s my turn to be strong, to be brave, to be valiant.
When flames threaten to turn us to ashes, it’s up to me to pull us From the Wreckage.

When I signed up for this book I expected the typical firefighter romance book, what I got was so much more! From the prologue of this book I just knew it was going to wreck me. The start of David and Grace is something beautiful that blooms from a horrible event. It spans years and years and becomes something amazing. I absolutely love the way Melissa Collins brings these characters to life and the way she tells their story. The twist in the story was something completely unexpected and so refreshing. It is not at all what I was expecting and it just took this story to a whole new level. The courage and strength of the characters is something amazing to read and I don't just mean the main characters. The supporting characters are all beautifully written as well. I wish I could just tell you all about this story because it is so good, but I wouldn’t want to ruin the beauty that is experiencing this book yourself. Melissa Collins is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and I cannot wait to read what she comes up with next.

When Dax returns home from war he feels completely lost. Not feeling comfortable at home after his return he sets off to start a new life and find out who he really is. Dax meets tattoo artist Beckett Ridge when he decides to get some new ink. Beckett makes him feel calm and has a way of putting him at ease but both have complicated pasts that haunt them and keep them from moving on.
I really liked this story. The characters were amazing and well written. Both men have difficult pasts and have to face their demons before moving forward. One thing I really liked about this story is that it actually had a meaningful storyline and focused on the characters and their relationships and not just on the physical relationship between the characters. I have found that a lot of m/m books focus more on the physical relationship between the characters and less on the emotional relationship. Intimate moments between characters can be important to the storyline, but if that is the main focus of the story I lose interest. Great job to the author for finding a perfect balance and congrats on this fantastic book.
