Sins of the Father
So while this book wasn't a favorite of mine in the series I did really enjoy it. It's a very quick read that gives us great insight into how the Heaven’s Rejects MC came to be who they are. I did have to go back and do a re-read though to get a few things strait in my head about what happens after. I love that we get to know how Raze got his name and I really enjoyed the journey. Can't wait for what comes next!!
Heaven Sent
This is the first book I have read by this author and I really like her writing style. I was really into the book in the beginning and was excited to see how the characters progressed. Dani finds herself in an impossible situation thanks to her roommate and has to depend on Hero and the MC to keep her safe. Hero was immediately drawn to Dani but when he finds out her connection to a rival MC he wants nothing to do with her and makes that clear. Toward the middle of the book I started to lose the connection with the characters a little bit. They had limited interaction and didn't really have much of anything to do with each other that wasn't fighting, but toward the end of the book I really started to get into it again. There were a lot of twists and turns in the book that kept it very exciting and interesting. It isn't until they face their biggest test at the end that you really get the characters. Mistakes are made and valuable lessons are learned. Overall I really liked the story and characters. There was just that little bit in the middle that kept me from really loving this book. I would definitely read more from this author and more in this series.
Angels and Ashes
What a fantastic second book to this series!! I liked the first book but this one just really blew me away. The writing is fantastic and the story pulls you in and really holds you captive. The characters are well written and well developed. As the story progresses you can really feel the strength and determination of both of the main characters. Their story is full of mystery, betrayal, action and heartbreak. The book is consistently good throughout and never lulls. I really loved this one and would definitely recommend it.We of course met the characters in the first book however they are both in very different places in their lives now. Darcy lost the man she loved and the father of her children. She never had any reason to doubt him or his brothers until he ended up dead. She knows she isn't getting the truth about his death and is determined to find out what happened no matter the cost.
Raze has struggled with the betrayal of his wife and the brutal death of his brother and now has even more to deal with Darcy sticking her nose in club business. His main goal is to keep her safe by not giving her the truth but that has become harder than he expected. Both of these character are phenomenally written and I loved ever second of their story. I cannot wait to read what comes next.
