Violet lived a life of self loathing. Never thinking she was good enough for anything she kept everything at arms length and drowned her pain in drugs and alcohol. The only things she ever had were her music and Cain. He was always there to pull her back when she had gone to far. He gave her strength when she had none, but she knew a day would come when he would be gone too. He was too good to be weighed down by her. When she met Cain she had nothing and thru him they nurtured a common love of music and a beautiful friendship, but the addictions and pain Violet clung too were too much for her to over come. In one terrifying night it was all gone and nothing would ever be the same.
Wow!! What else can I say about this beautiful and heartbreaking story. From the very beginning it grips you and wont let you go. The pain and also the love in this story is so strong and overwhelming it can be difficult to read, but this is definitely a book you need to read. I have read books about addiction before, but never one that has touched me the way this one did. This beautiful and talented woman who lives a tortured existence and never feels loved even when the most powerful love she will ever experience is right in front of her. Cain is an amazing character and not without faults of his own but the love he has for this tortured woman is absolutely beautiful. This book is not at all what I expected when I first signed up to read it. I am so glad I was able to experience this story and hope everyone takes the opportunity to experience it as well. Fantastic job Kirsty Dallas and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.
